Thank you for visiting this site. This website has been created by friends and family with the goals of rallying financial support for Brent in a time of need, and for sharing the details of Brent’s healing journey. It will be updated regularly as Brent posts journal entries on his progress. Brent believes that through sharing his story and identifying some of the resources in which he is participating, other people and families affected by cancer will benefit.
As many of you are aware, Brent was diagnosed with prostate cancer about five years ago. This began a journey of learning and awareness that has brought him in touch with modes of healing from both within and beyond the scope of traditional Western medicine. Unfortunately, many of the innovative therapies, although proven effective, are not supported by our Canadian health care system. The result has been a huge burden on the family’s personal finances, with Brent and River having spent over $70,000 on treatments in the past year alone and having recently taken a line of credit on their house in trying to keep up with the mounting costs of this care.
Through his creative vision and work at Wondertree, Virtual High and now SelfDesign, Brent has lived a life committed to helping others. His thinking outside the box has enriched the lives of countless children and families.
